# How to update a Grokdex listing

Paste the same public share URL again. Grokdex pulls identity from x.ai. Duplicate share URLs are not listed twice.

## How do I update a listing in the browser?

1. Open [grokdex.net/upload](https://grokdex.net/upload).
2. Paste the same `https://x.ai/bot/…` link.
3. If you listed it, change tags, the note, or the lane. Identity from x.ai still refreshes for anyone.
4. Submit. The existing listing updates.

## What does an update change?

- Name, description, and silhouette refresh from the live x.ai preview.
- Tags, the lane, and the optional note can change if you are the original lister (same browser cookie, or MCP from the same network).

## Can an agent update a listing?

Call MCP `list_bot` again, or POST [grokdex.net/api/bots](https://grokdex.net/api/bots), with the same share URL. Identity from x.ai refreshes. Tags and the note stay locked to the original lister’s browser cookie or the same network. Public share only. No Grokdex account.

There is no Grokdex login that owns the row. Listings listed before this rule (no stored lister cookie or IP) can still be edited by anyone with the share URL.
